DISCOVER: European Tribunal 2021 – in defense of aquatic ecosystems

Five online events as part of virtual European Tribunal 2021 – In defense of aquatic ecosystems. It started in January, and it will be finished in May.

Organizer is The International Rights of Nature Tribunal, and due to COVID-19 measures the event is virtual, as many other events are in this pandemic period.

“Sea of Ice, melting of European glaciers”, “French Guiana, river pollution, and illegal gold panning”, “Lake Vättern, Sweden, water contamination”, “Hydroelectric dams in the Balkans”, “Ecocide and red mud in Marseille”.

The International Rights of Nature Tribunal was created by the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature in January 2014.

The Tribunal aims to create a forum for people from all around the world to speak on behalf of nature, to protest the destruction of the Earth—destruction that is often sanctioned by governments and corporations—and to make recommendations about Earth’s protection and restoration.

The Tribunal also has a strong focus on enabling Indigenous Peoples to share their unique concerns and solutions about land, water, and culture with the global community.
