Vitamin D is the weapon against Covid-19
The scientists came to the conclusion that patients who had a stable level of vitamin D in the body tolerated Covid-19 more easily. On the other hand, those who had serious problems due to infection with this virus, had very low levels of vitamin D in their body.
Three scientists from different institutes and universities conducted research and dealt with this topic, and finally published an extensive study. They are Petre Cristian Ilie, Simina Stefanescu and Lee Smith.
In conclusion, they found significant relationships between vitamin D levels and the number of COVID – 19 cases and especially the mortality caused by this infection. The most vulnerable group of the population for COVID – 19 is also the one that has the most deficiency in Vitamin D.
Vitamin D has already been shown to protect against acute respiratory infections and it has been shown to be safe. We believe that we can advise Vitamin D supplementation to protect against the COVID – 19 infections.
